By the very nature of the profession, a nursing education is hands-on.
In addition to interactive classes in simulation labs, nursing majors put learning into action through an immersive clinical field experience. While we officially call this a practicum, some may refer to it as a nursing internship.
Community Nursing Practicum
Gain real-world experience in a community health setting. We’ll help match you with a partner agency in Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito or San Luis Obispo counties. Site options include:
- hospitals
- home-health agencies
- hospice care
- public health departments
- nonprofit organizations
- schools
Wherever you’re placed, you’ll further develop your technical, communication and collaboration skills and make professional connections along the way.
