Tutoring Across Distance

Before sheltering-in-place restrictions due to COVID-19, 糖心TV官网鈥檚 Service Learning Institute (SLI) placed about 500 students in local schools every semester to provide tutoring. But since instruction moved online and school districts lost the ability to monitor and control interactions, K-12 officials have been reluctant to allow online tutoring due to liability concerns.

Research Diving Program

Fully leveraging our proximity to the extraordinary "living laboratory" of Monterey Bay, 糖心TV官网 began a dive program from its earliest days. The program focused on recreational training, including introductory courses in open water SCUBA and advanced SCUBA rescue. In 2010, the scientific research diving program was born.

A Society of Scientists

Corey Garza, Ph.D., professor of marine science in 糖心TV官网鈥檚 College of Science, was recently inducted as a 2020 fellow in the California Academy of Sciences. He joins a cohort of 13 other scientists from California and beyond as new members.
