Health and Wellness Services (HWS) at CSU Monterey Bay — the Campus Health Center, the Personal Growth and Counseling Center, and Student Disability and Accessibility Center (SDAC) — strives to help members of the ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø community achieve and maintain physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellness.

Selena Velasquez has an impressive resume, even though the psychology major and statistics minor just graduated from ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø with a bachelor’s degree in May.

Two ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø undergraduate students took top awards at the 34th Annual California State University (CSU) Student Research Competition on April 24. CSU East Bay hosted this year’s event, which was virtual for the first time because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Students and faculty with CSU Monterey Bay’s Master of Physician Assistant (MSPA) Program continue to volunteer their time, energy and skills to fight COVID-19. They are now helping set up an Alternate Care Site (ACS) at Marina Airport.

Early on in the global pandemic, CSU Monterey Bay student Angela Albanese learned the alarming news about the heavy toll the coronavirus was taking in her home country of Italy. The epicenter of Europe’s outbreak, Italy logged the highest number of coronavirus deaths in the world in March.

When CSU Monterey Bay moved to limited campus operations in March to slow the spread of COVID-19, all classes shifted to virtual instruction in just one week.

Longtime Monterey Peninsula resident, Robert Darwin, has committed to a legacy gift for student scholarships to California State University, Monterey Bay (ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø). The largest gift in the history of the 25-year-old university, Darwin’s generosity will provide necessary scholarships for talented and gifted students from low-income and impoverished families with the greatest financial need.
