As COVID-19 continues to affect people across the nation, ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø understands that prospective students are facing unprecedented challenges.

At the start of the new year, on Jan. 2, ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø lent its vast Lot 59 (a fenced-in parking lot) to the Monterey County Health Department to administer drive-thru COVID-19 vaccinations to emergency medical services personnel.

One thing has stayed constant for ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø alum Lauren Cohen during her two decades at Monterey’s MY Museum: the art of play as an integral part of early childhood learning.

The ÌÇÐÄTV¹ÙÍø campus will close for the holiday/winter break on Thursday, Dec. 24. It will reopen on Monday, Jan. 4, 2021, in the same pandemic-restricted limited capacity as the Fall 2020 semester.

While COVID-19 continues to spread distress across the country, and California is experiencing another surge of positive cases, the tide is also changing in the course of the pandemic.

Just a few years after its founding in 1994, CSU Monterey Bay began a holiday tradition of partnering with non-profit organizations in the community and donating gifts to families in need. The coronavirus pandemic threatened to derail the beloved tradition this year, but the spirit of giving prevailed.

CSU, Monterey Bay campus, is closed from Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2019 through Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020.

The California State University (CSU) is planning to return to in-person instruction for Fall 2021.
